VISION: I'm already affecting forms. I know what it takes to be a statesman.
MISSION: I have accepted the call. I will change the world.
ABILITIES: Self-governance
SKILLS: Read, write, and argue like a righteous lawyer. Think logically. Persuade. Defend your own position. Speak like an orator. Identify worldviews in propaganda, literature, and conversations. Identify forms and systems and know how to change them.
CONTENT: This course focuses on three areas; learning the language of world views, personal management, and principles of good government and jurisprudence. "The student should be used to thinking now, challenging prevailing assumptions, seeking answers, asking penetrating questions and defending his or her opinions. He or she is ready to go on to further studies in human nature, worldviews, and government, focusing on forms" (LEMI). Scholars will have the opportunity to lead colloquia, give a speech and write a report on a current event and how it is either supporting or violating principles found in The 5000 Year Leap. For personal management, Steven R. Covey’s book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People is discussed in its entirety with expectations of implementing the “habits” in their acquisition of scholar skills. Each scholar leads a discussion on a section of this incredibly life-changing discourse toward Private and Public Victory! The final project is a Supreme Court Simulation. Where scholars will prepare a law brief for their side of a Supreme Court Case and try to persuade the judges that their side is the correct side. All events are followed by a Graduation Dinner with speeches and awards. It's going to be a really BIG DEAL!
